As the New Year approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year. To Eltronic FuelTech, 2017 has been a very busy year in many terms. Internally, we have optimized the flow through our production, very much inspired by lean. Our production is now ready for the future, and can easily be scaled up to meet future customer demands. Furthermore, our brand new 1000 bar test chamber has recently been taken into operation. Now we can pressure test new units inside our chamber in safe manners, and we have the possibility to test hydrostatic, as well as pneumatic.

During 2017, we have also seen an increasing activity in our service department, as the number of Gas Valve Trains and Gas Valve Units going into operation grows fast. The need for Eltronic FuelTech superintendents to participate in commissioning and gas trials have raised, and we have really enjoyed the opportunity to work closely and locally with our customers.

2017 was likewise the year where we went into close cooperation with AMES in Korea, making it possible to serve many of our Asian customers with short notice from this service center. We are now able to offer even faster supply of spare parts from a local stock in Korea, for the benefit of our customers.

For our development engineers, especially two projects have been challenging this year. First of all, the finalizing of our high-pressure valve for 660 bar, made under the supervision of Innovation Fund Denmark. This has been a three-year development project where all the components have been made from scratch and the forces inside the 660 bar system takes all design and material to the edge of what is possible. We ended, however, with a great prototype, which will go into test in the beginning of 2018.

The finalizing of our new Gas Valve Unit Geminus was the second big development project we ended in 2017. Our sales team are now busy travelling around the world to introduce this new, smart design to engine builders, shipyards and shipowners. The unit has been well received with a lot of positive attention, and we have already sold the first units, which will go into operation in Q1 2018.

As a whole, we have had a great year, and we would like to send a special thank you to all of those who have made our progress possible during the year. We really value our relationship and we look forward to working with you in the years to come.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and the very best in 2018!
